Admission to Direct Second Year Pharmacy 2017 - 2018

Eligibility Criteria for DSP 2017-2018

2.1    For Maharashtra State Candidature Candidate and All India Candidature Candidate:-
(i) The Candidate should be an Indian National.
(ii) Passed Diploma Course in Pharmacy with at least 45% marks (at least 40% marks in case of candidates of Backward class categories and Persons with disability belonging to Maharashtra State only) from an All India Council for Technical Education or Pharmacy Council of India or Central or State Government approved Institution or its equivalent.
 
2.2   Candidature Type:
 
A Candidate is considered Eligible for Admission to direct Second Year of Pharmacy through CAP subject to Fulfillment of any one of the Eligibility Criteria as listed in the following table.

Candidate/Father or Mother is Maharashtra Domiciled. Type "B"

A Candidate who does not fall in Type-A above, but who or whose Father or Mother is domiciled in the State of Maharashtra and possess Domicile Certificate.

3.
Sons and daughters of Central Govt. / Govt. of India Undertaking employee Type "C"
A Candidate who does not fall in either TypeA or Type-B but whose Father or Mother is an employee of the Government of India or Government of India Undertaking and who has been posted and reported to duty in Maharashtra State before the last date for submission of Application Form for CAP.
4.
Sons and Daughters of Maharashtra State/ Maharashtra State Undertaking Employees. Type "D"
A Candidate who does not fall in any of the above Type-A, Type B and Type-C but whose Father or Mother is an employee or retired employee of the Government of Maharashtra or Government of Maharashtra Undertaking.
5.
Candidate From Disputed Maharashtra Karnataka Border Area and whose Mother tongue is Marathi. Type "E"
Candidates passing SSC and/or HSC Examination and also Diploma in Pharmacy or its equivalent from a recognised institution from a Disputed Maharashtra Karnataka Border Area or from Maharashtra, residing in the Disputed Maharashtra Karnataka Border Area and whose Mother tongue is Marathi.
6.
Other than Maharashtra Candidate. All India
Does not satisfy as Type-A, Type-B, Type-C ,Type D and Type E. Candidate Passing SSC (Std. X)/ HSC (Std. XII) / any other Equivalent Examination and /or Diploma Examination from a Recognized Institution situated outside the State of Maharashtra.
2.3   General Notes on Eligibility:
 
1)   Eligibility criteria for Candidates belonging to Persons with Disability:
In addition to the basic qualification mentioned above, candidate who is suffering from any one of the following permanent disability is eligible to seek admission against seats reserved for Persons with Disability candidates (i.e. Candidate who is visually impaired (blind) Candidate type- P1, Candidate who is speech & hearing impaired (deaf & dumb) Candidate type- P2, Candidate who has orthopaedic disorders, learning disabilities, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dysgraphica, Spastic Candidate type -P3), provided they submit a certificate (Proforma F/F-1) clearly stating that the extent of disability is more than 40% and the disability is of permanent nature.
2)   Candidate Passing SSC (Std. X)/ HSC (Std. XII) / any other Equivalent Examination and / or Diploma Course in Pharmacy Examination as Specified in rule 2.1 from a Recognized Institution situated outside the State of Maharashtra.
AND
Not satisfying any of the Conditions stated in Sr. No. 2, 3, 4 (i.e. Type B,C,D,E) above as regards to parent's status are not Eligible for Admission through CAP and also in Govt./Govt. Aided / Govt. Aided University managed Institutes / University Departments for any subsequent Institute level rounds. However, these Candidates are Eligible for the seats remaining vacant after Admitting Maharashtra Candidates in the Unaided Institutes.
If letter grades are assigned instead of marks at SSC / HSC / Diploma or its equivalent examination the candidate must obtain the certificate of conversion of letter of grades into marks from the competent authority where from the candidate has passed the examination. The candidate should produce such certificate at the time of submission of application form. The Eligibility shall be decided based on the equivalent marks submitted by such candidates
Admission of any Candidate made at the Institution shall be Provisional, subject to the acceptance / production of Eligibility Certificate from the concerned University and the final approval to the merit list of second year Degree Pharmacy Course by the Director of Technical Education, Maharashtra State, Mumbai. If Candidate fails to get Eligibility, his Admission may be cancelled at any stage.
Candidates admitted to Direct Second Year B. Pharmacy Class will have to appear and pass in the subject of Industrial Psychology prescribed in F.Y. B. Pharmacy syllabus in addition to producing passing Certificate in Mathematics / Biology at XII Std Examination of Higher Secondary Board in Maharashtra State, if he / she has not offered / passed in any / both the subjects. Failing to production of this Certificate, the student will not be promoted to third year Degree in Pharmacy
Candidates passing Diploma in Pharmacy from Institution not approved by AICTE/PCI are not eligible and therefore shall not have any claim on Admission.
